Mr. Shezad Moten first entered the private security sector while attaining his Criminology degree. Having carefully honed his knowledge in various avenues of the security industry over the last 22 years, he quickly recognized that he had an ability to deliver standout customer service while never losing focus on the operational and logistical challenges that go hand in hand with securing a variety of communities and facilities.
Joining forces with Marksman Security in 2012, he works at strengthening the organization by ensuring that its culture of customer service and innovation remains on par with its identity as a leader in the security services industry. Mr. Moten comes to Marksman with a wealth of experience, including a 10-year stint as president of a South-Florida-based security firm he helped found in 2002. His other experiences range from directing security operations for award-winning commercial buildings in Atlanta to designing and implementing security protocols for some of the country’s most exclusive gated communities.
Mr. Moten holds a bachelor’s degree in Sociology with a concentration in Criminology from the University of Florida and is a proud member of the Delta Tau Delta International Fraternity. He is also a member of ASIS and The National Council of Investigation and Security Services (NCISS).

Mr. Vertis McCoy serves as Branch Manager in Charlotte, N.C.  In this role, Mr. McCoy oversees all operations, client relationships, brand growth, and ensures our security officers reach their highest potential through training, employee support, leadership development, and mentorship initiatives. 

Since 2019, Mr. McCoy has grown in his career with Marksman, beginning as Director of Security at a site in our Atlanta branch, and advancing to Director of Operations, and now as our Charlotte Branch Manager.  Mr. McCoy possesses many qualities that we seek in a team leader, and we are thankful for his service, example, and commitment to Marksman Security.
